In the state of North Carolina, it is NOT illegal to drink raw milk from your own cows. Herd shares provide the benefit of raw milk to those who do not have the time or space to care for milk cows. Vidhi Farm does not sell raw milk. We sell herd shares and shareholders become part owners of our herd of cows. Shareholders pay a one-time purchase fee and a monthly boarding fee which covers the cost of feeding, boarding, milking and caring for the cows. Each shareholder receives fresh raw milk weekly in a glass jar.
- Herd share requires a one-time $150 fee and a variable monthly fee of $80 per share, subject to feed cost changes. Each share provides a weekly gallon of milk. Membership necessitates signing an agreement and waiver before the first pickup.
- Pickups are in South Charlotte - Providence Rd - Exit 57 on I485 - 5-6:30 pm at Waverly. We do not issue refunds or credits for any shares not picked up.
- Our cows are fed on our pasture and when required supplemented by locally grown grass hay.
- We machine milk our cows. ensuring the milk stays clean and fresh. The machine is sanitized after each use with industry-standard solutions. We deep clean the equipment twice weekly and regularly send milk samples for analysis to manage herd health.
- Our herd is health tested annually and is disease free. Specifically we test our cows for BVD/BLV/Johne's.
